Look through some diet suggestions which are useful for office workers:
1. The diet should be balanced and varied
If your diet is monotonous it can cause imbalance and deficiencies. The following foods should be consumed by the office workers every day:
* Fruit and vegetables
* Whole, unsifted, high-fibre grains and cereals
* Legumes (dry beans, peas and lentils)
* Fat-free milk and dairy products
* Lean meat, fish or eggs
* Mono- or polyunsaturated margarine and oils
2. Your nutrition mustn’t cause overweight
If you eat snacks containing a lot of fat from canteen and the tea trolley while working in the office you will gain excess weight. As a result you will have to fight with overweight.
3. A low- fat, high- fibre diet can help you lose weight
You should follow useful and balanced diet which consists of low-fat, high-fibre foods to reduce your energy intake without creating deficiencies and endless cravings.
4. Don’t trust fad diets and slimming pills
All people love when the positives results are achieved quickly. That’s why trying to lose weight they are looking for a “magic potion”. The main principle of most fad diets is that they are lacking in one or more macronutrients (e.g. carbohydrates) or food groups. They are also very law in energy which makes you feel weak and wobbly. It is not recommended to follow these diets. Fad diets can help you lose weight but once you stop eating two lettuce leaves and 12 eggs a day, your weight will be regained very fast. The crucial factor of weight reduction is not only to lose weight but also to maintain it afterwards.
Diet pills and potions will promise you to make a miracle but they are also very costly and can create harmful side effects such as insomnia, diarrhoea, dehydration, palpitations, anxiety, depression etc.
If you want to lose weight successfully you will have to change you habits, not simply taking pills.
5. Perform physical activities
It will be beneficial to add to your law-fat, high- fibre slimming diet regular exercise. It has been proved that the dieters who train regularly stick to their diets more easily and lose more weight, than those who follow a weight loss diet alone.
